Best Time to Visit Dubai

Dubai is easiest to enjoy outdoors from November to March, while June to September brings heavy heat. This page shows the pattern by month and what it means for the Palm.

When to go

The cooler winter months suit longer time outside: the waterfront, Al Ittihad Park and a day at the waterpark. June to September brings considerable heat, and indoor plans such as the aquarium or the mall then make more sense. The pattern below comes from monthly averages. It is a guide to the seasons, not a forecast for a particular week.

Outdoor attractions run year-round, so the season mostly changes how long you can stay out. If heat is your main concern, read the notes on Aquaventure Waterpark tickets before you pick a month.

Highs and lows are the average daily maximum and minimum, and rain is the average monthly total. The more recent airport figures above are monthly means of the whole day, so they are lower than the daily highs here. Do not mix the two.

Our pick: an evening on the water

In the hot months an evening trip is easier to take than a midday one: this yacht tour is set for a 17:00 departure, with drinks on board.

What the seasons mean for your plans

Three rough periods.

November to March

Average highs run from 24.0 to 30.5 °C, the lowest in the table. This is the easier period for walking the waterfront or a long day outdoors. Rain is light, and the table shows most of it from December to March. For most visitors who want to be outside, this is the best period.

April, May and October

Highs rise to 32.4 °C in April, 36.8 °C in May and 35.1 °C in October. Plan outdoor time for the morning or the evening.

June to September

Average highs reach 38.7 to 40.6 °C. Pick the water and the indoor options, and keep walks short. The waterpark is open all year, so a hot day there is still possible, with closing listed at 18:00 or 18:30.

Weather and the flying and boating plans

Wind, visibility and rain matter more than the calendar.

Skydive

Wind, visibility and rain can delay or cancel a jump. The booked time is your arrival, not your jump, and you should allow 3 to 4 hours. If weather cancels, you can rebook or ask for a refund. Check the current schedule for your month, as there is no guaranteed season. See Skydive Dubai over the Palm.

Helicopter

Weather, air traffic control and operations can change the route and the time. One operator offers a rebooking or a full refund if the weather is unsafe. See helicopter tours over the Palm.

Boats

The operator makes the final safety decision. Only the route you booked is promised, not a swim stop, a dolphin sighting or a sunset position.

Swimming

Swim only in designated, supervised zones and respect red flags. Currents can endanger even good swimmers. See the beaches page.

Events and travel advice

One festival and one check before you book.

Dubai Shopping Festival

The next edition runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027.

Travel advice

Since 30 September 2026 the German Federal Foreign Office has advised against non-essential travel to the UAE. Check the current advice for your travel dates. More notices are on the getting there page.

The desert season

The desert follows its own pattern. For safari timing, see the best time for the desert.
