Helicopter flights over the Palm at a glance
Two operators fly over the Palm. One takes off from the Dubai Police Academy in Al Sufouh and offers three flights of 12, 17 and 22 minutes. The other takes off from Atlantis. You can book a shared seat or a private helicopter. A private flight is priced for the whole helicopter, not per person.
The flight is only part of the time you need. Check-in is 45 minutes before departure at the Al Sufouh site. Weather, air traffic control and operations can change the route and the timing, so keep your plans for the day flexible.

The flight from the Atlantis area suits you if you want a set meeting point and headsets, and the Jumeirah helipad flight is the one with live commentary and refreshments, up to 30 minutes. A further flight starts at the Atlantis helipad on the Palm and comes with in-flight narration.

Helicopter flights compared
Prices in 2026. Shared prices are per seat. Private prices are for the whole helicopter.
| Flight | Take-off | Length | Shared seat | Private flight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iconic | Dubai Police Academy, Al Sufouh | 12 minutes | AED 710 | AED 3,550 for up to 5 |
| The Palm | Dubai Police Academy, Al Sufouh | 17 minutes | AED 945 | AED 4,725 for up to 5 |
| Vision | Dubai Police Academy, Al Sufouh | 22 minutes | AED 1,299 | AED 6,495 for up to 5 |
| Pearl | Atlantis | 12 minutes | AED 715 | AED 3,145 for up to 6 or AED 3,670 for up to 7 |
| Iconic (Atlantis) | Atlantis | 17 minutes | AED 979 | โ |
The Atlantis prices include 5 percent VAT. The two flights called Iconic are different products: 12 minutes from Al Sufouh and 17 minutes from Atlantis. These are planning prices, not fixed calendar prices, and holiday or peak-season surcharges are possible. The Al Sufouh operator sometimes offers a promotional price from AED 568 for the short flight. Plan with AED 710 and check whether the lower price is on offer when you book.
On all three Al Sufouh flights the private price equals five shared seats. A private flight therefore makes sense for a group of five, or when you want the cabin to yourselves. For most visitors, the 17-minute Palm flight is the best balance of price and time over the island. Take the 12-minute flight if the budget is tight, and the 22-minute flight if the longer route matters more than the cost.
Rules and what to bring
Operator rules differ, so read the ones for your booking.
Age and weight
At the Al Sufouh operator, children can fly from age 2, subject to safety conditions. The weight limit is 115 kg per seat.
Documents
The Atlantis operator asks for your original passport in physical form, or a valid Emirates ID for residents. Bring the real document.
Opening times
The Al Sufouh operator flies daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check the current schedule for your date.
Bad weather
At the Atlantis operator, uncertain weather means rebooking or a cancellation with a full refund.
Seats
A window seat or a free choice of seat is not guaranteed. Do not book on the assumption that you will sit where you want.
What you see
The flights show the Palm and the coast. The longer flights extend the route. The shape of the island, with its trunk, fronds and crescent, is easiest to read from the air. Atlantis sits on the crescent.
Weather and air traffic control can change the route on the day. Treat the route on the booking page as a plan, not as a promise. If you would rather jump than fly, read about a tandem skydive over the Palm.
